Global Talent Visa (subclass 858)
Australia's Global Talent Visa is designed to attract highly skilled professionals in target sectors including tech, health, fintech, agri-food, and energy. It provides a fast-track pathway to permanent residency for individuals who are internationally recognized with evidence of exceptional and outstanding achievement. A nominator in Australia is required.
- Internationally recognized with evidence of exceptional achievement in a target sector
- Target sectors: Resources, Agri-food and AgTech, Energy, Health Industries, Defence/Advanced Manufacturing/Space, Circular Economy, DigiTech, Infrastructure/Tourism, Financial Services/FinTech, Education
- Ability to earn above the Fair Work high income threshold (or recent PhD/Masters graduate)
- Nomination by an Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible NZ citizen, or Australian organization in same field
- Still prominent in field of expertise
- Ability to find employment or establish in Australia
- Meet health and character requirements
- Must be working in one of the 10 target sectors
- Must have a valid nominator in Australia
- Cannot change target sector after application
Processing time: 1-6 months
Fee: AUD $4,640 primary applicant + additional fees for family members
Priority processing for exceptional candidates. Two-stage process: Expression of Interest (EOI) then visa application
