Technology Talent Admission Scheme (TechTAS)
Hong Kong's TechTAS provides a fast-track arrangement for eligible tech companies and R&D institutions to admit non-local tech talent. While primarily for talent admission, it supports startups in emerging tech fields. Hong Kong's position as Asia's financial hub, low taxes, and access to mainland China attract tech entrepreneurs.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)
- Employment with TechTAS-qualified company (Cyberport or HKSTP tenant)
- Role in emerging technology field (AI, biotech, cybersecurity, data analytics, fintech, etc.)
- Relevant work experience in specialized tech field
- Valid passport
- Clean criminal record
- Employment contract from qualified company
- Must work for sponsoring company
- Company must maintain TechTAS quota eligibility
- Limited to specific technology sectors
- Cannot switch employers without new application
Processing time: 2-4 weeks
Fee: HKD $230 visa fee
Fast-track processing for approved TechTAS quota holders. Company must first obtain quota allocation
