Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) is a long-term residence program allowing foreigners to live in Malaysia for extended periods. Requires fixed deposit placement in Malaysian bank and offshore income proof. Popular with retirees and those seeking affordable, tropical living with excellent healthcare and infrastructure.
- Age 35 or above
- Proof of offshore income (MYR 40,000/month)
- Fixed Deposit placement in Malaysian bank
- Liquid assets of at least MYR 1.5M
- Valid passport with at least 6 months validity
- Medical report from Malaysian panel clinic
- Good conduct certificate from home country
- Cannot work for Malaysian employers (can invest in businesses)
- Must maintain fixed deposit during validity
- Can withdraw 50% of FD after 1 year for approved purposes
- Must spend 90 cumulative days per year in Malaysia
- Some states (Sabah, Sarawak) have separate MM2H programs
Processing time: 3-6 months
Fee: Application fees + agent fees (typically MYR 5,000-15,000)
Apply through authorized MM2H agents or directly to Immigration Malaysia
