Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP)
The Malta Permanent Residence Programme provides permanent residence to non-EU nationals through government contribution and property investment or rental. One of few EU programs offering immediate permanent residence. Malta is EU and Schengen member with favorable tax regime for residents.
- Government contribution and qualifying property
- Health insurance covering EU
- Clean criminal record
- Proof of capital: €500,000 assets of which €150,000 must be financial
- Not a citizen of sanctioned country
- No EU long-term resident status elsewhere
- Cannot work in Malta initially (can apply for work permit separately)
- Must maintain property for 5 years minimum
- Must visit Malta at least once annually
- Donation to registered philanthropic NGO required
Processing time: 4-6 months
Fee: €40,000 non-refundable contribution + property + donation
