Startup Visa (Startup Act / ENISA)
Spain's Startup Visa, part of the 2022 Startup Act (Ley de Startups), allows entrepreneurs to establish innovative startups in Spain. The visa provides residence for founders of innovative, scalable companies with a digital business model. ENISA (National Innovation Company) supports funding and certification for qualifying startups.
- Innovative, scalable business project
- Digital or technology-based business model
- Business plan with market analysis and financial projections
- Startup must be less than 5 years old (or 7 years for biotech/energy)
- Not previously operating in Spain
- Valid passport
- Health insurance
- Clean criminal record
- ENISA certification or recognition from approved incubator
- Startup must maintain innovative and scalable nature
- Annual turnover cannot exceed €10M
- Must have headquarters or significant operations in Spain
- Subject to favorable startup tax regime requirements
Processing time: 20 days (by law)
Fee: €80-160 depending on application type
Fast-track processing for certified startups. Apply at Spanish consulate or immigration office
