International Entrepreneur Parole (IEP)
The International Entrepreneur Parole allows foreign entrepreneurs to temporarily enter the US to develop and oversee their startup. Applicants must demonstrate substantial ownership, central role in operations, and significant investment from US investors or government grants. Provides up to 5 years total stay with extension.
- Substantial ownership (at least 10% at time of application)
- Active and central role in startup operations
- Significant potential for rapid business growth and job creation
- Startup formed in US within past 5 years (or newly formed)
- Qualifying investment: $264,147+ from qualified US investors OR $105,659+ government grants
- Investor must have established track record (investments leading to growth/job creation)
- Does not lead directly to green card
- Cannot work for other employers
- Must maintain central role in startup
- Re-parole requires showing substantial increase in funding, revenue, or job creation
- Up to 3 entrepreneurs per startup can apply
Processing time: 3-6 months
Fee: $1,965 filing fee
Apply through USCIS. Must demonstrate significant public benefit and meet all criteria
