Innovator Founder Visa
The UK Innovator Founder visa replaced the previous Innovator and Start-up visas in April 2023. It's designed for experienced businesspeople who want to establish an innovative, scalable business in the UK. Applicants must have their business idea endorsed by an approved body. Provides path to settlement (permanent residence) after 3 years.
- Endorsement from approved endorsing body
- Innovative, viable, and scalable business idea
- New to UK market (not a carbon copy of existing business)
- At least £1,270 in savings
- Valid passport
- English language ability (B2 level)
- TB test certificate if from listed country
- Cannot work outside your business (except certain supplementary work)
- Must maintain contact with endorsing body
- Business must be genuinely trading and viable
- Cannot access public funds until settlement
Processing time: 3-8 weeks
Fee: £1,191 visa fee + £1,035/year Immigration Health Surcharge
First obtain endorsement from approved body, then apply for visa. Can apply from outside or inside UK
